USI Takes Two From SIUE

        EVANSVILLE, IND. -- The first two opportunities at win No. 900 for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville baseball coach Gary Collins didn't go as planned.
        Southern Indiana swept a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader from SIUE, winning 4-1 and 12-7. SIUE is now 17-10 and 11-8 in GLVC play. Southern Indiana improved to 21-10 and 12-6 in the GLVC.
        USI's Adam Summers surrendered just two hits in the opener. Hunter Slade led the offense with runs batted in during the first and second inning.
        SIUE was in control of game two until USI rallied for eight runs in the bottom of the seventh. The Cougars were outhit 14-12 in the game as SIUE's Cory Bunner scored four runs and collected three hits.
        The same two teams face off Sunday at Evansville. The first game is a nine-inning GLVC contest followed by a non-conference seven-inning game.
