         RICHMOND, Ky. - Jessica Goshert scored with 6:50 left in the game Friday as Eastern Kentucky edged Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 1-0 in women's college soccer action.
           The Cougars ended their season with a 5-8 record.
           "We had the ball in their end a lot in the second half but couldn't score," said SIUE coach Derek Burton.
           SIUE managed eight shots against the Colonels and forced EKU goalkeeper into Stephanie Lynch into four saves. EKU, which finished with 13 shots, improved to 7-8-2 overall.
           SIUE goalkeeper Kaci Backs (Greenville) completed her collegiate career with seven saves. Her 185 career saves places her No. 3 on the all-time saves list at SIUE.
           "in the second half, everyone turned in a great performance," said Burton. It was the final career game for This will be the final SIUE game for SIUE's seven seniors. The list includes Backs, Amy Million (Granite City), Jenny Kates (Florissant, Mo.), Jennifer Kratzer (O'Fallon, Mo.), Kelly Limpert(St. Charles, Mo.), Michele Martin (Collinsville), Alison Stambaugh (Joliet), and Elizabeth Valenti (Overland Park, Kan.).
           Goshert scored the game-winning goal on a header off a corner kick. Heather Bruce was credited with an assist for the Colonels.
