CHICAGO - Darrin Williams led a hot-shooting Loyola Monday in an 89-65 victory over Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in men's college basketball action.

The Cougars led 20-19 midway through the first half and then fell to a 22-9 deficit to end the first half. SIUE shot 32 percent in the first half but kept it close by hitting 12 of 14 from the free throw line over the first 20 minutes. SIUE shot 45 percent in the second half and pulled within five early in the second half.
"I just told them to continue their aggressiveness and those shots would fall
Forrester said a defensive switch by Loyola gave the Cougars problems.
"It took us out of our rhythm a bit," said Forrester.
The Ramblers, which handed their coach Jim Whitesell his 350th career victory, also had a 16-point, 11-rebound effort off the bench from Leon Young.
Barry Wellington led the Cougars with 16 points. Mark Yelovich added 14 points, and Nikola Bundalo contributed 10.
