Cougars Finish 11th

          NORMAL, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's Kayla Brown placed fourth in a field of 234 runners Friday evening at the Illinois Intercollegiates on the campus of Illinois State.
          Brown finished the 5,000-meter race in 18 minutes, 22 seconds for a pace of 5:55. Kristin Sutherland, of Illinois, was the event winner in a time of 17:47.
          Brown's big finish helped SIUE garner 12th place as a team in a field of 25 schools. Illinois easily won the meet with a team score of 37, placing four runners in the top 10. Host Illinois State was second with 70 points.
          Kelly Flounders was the next top Cougar runner. She came in at 20:10 for 61st place overall.
          In the men's race, Kyle Cameron placed 36th overall in a field of 255 runners. His time of 26:12 helped SIUE place 11th as a team. Illinois edged Illinois State 46-56 to win the team competition in a field of 26 teams.
