Pesky Cougars Fall to Loyola

         CHICAGO, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville battled for four sets Tuesday but fell to host Loyola 25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20 in college volleyball.
         The Cougars fell to 2-7 overall while Loyola, members of the Horizon League improved its record to 12-3.
         Three players finished in double figures for kills for the Cougars. Sydney Winslow led SIUE with 14 followed by 11 from Kelsey Hubert and 10 from Emily Rahn. SIUE hit .177 for the match.
         SIUE and Loyola split the first two sets with both teams using a strong offense to get the upper hand. SIUE led set three 19-16 on consecutive service aces from Winslow. Loyola would then take control of the match by running off a streak of eight straight points.
         Dana Van Diggelen powered the Loyola offense with 15 kills. The Ramblers hit .292 for the match.
         SIUE next travels to the Chicago State Tournament and will play Providence, Quinnipiac and Chicago State in the two-day tournament which starts Friday.
