Cougars Extend Win Streak to Six

         KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- SIUE softball improved to 19-5 Friday with two more wins at the Rebel Spring Games.
         Southern Illinois University Edwardsville defeated Sacred Heart 9-2 and then blanked Robert Morris 7-0.
         The Cougars have now won six straight at the Rebel Spring Games and close out the trip Saturday with a noon CT game against Wagner and a 4 p.m. CT game against Florida A&M.
         SIUE pounded out 13 hits against the Gamecocks of Sacred Heart and scored its runs in just two innings.
         The Cougars rallied for four runs in the fourth and five more in the seventh. Ellese Lawrence hit her first collegiate home run, a three-run pinch-hit blast in the seventh.
         Kaitlin Colosimo, 8-3, gave up five hits and struck out six. Both of her runs allowed were unearned.
         SIUE hurlers Erika Taylor and Katie Wilkinson teamed up for a shutout in game two over Robert Morris. It was the pitching staff's ninth shutout of the season. Taylor earned the victory in four innings of work for her 10th victory of the season.
         The Cougars picked up a pair of runs in the second off a two-run double by Amanda Pucel. Lauren Zembruski added her fourth home run of the season, a two-run shot, in the third inning.
