Murray State Wins First Game of Series

         MURRAY, Ky. -- Murray State University starter Chris Craycraft allowed just a single unearned run on five hits Friday afternoon as the 'Breds defeated Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 7-1 in the first of a three-game series at Johnny Reagan Field at Murray State University.
         SIUE baseball falls to 4-13 with the loss. MSU improves to 17-7.
         Mike Hurt scored the only run for the Cougars in the eighth inning, coming in on a passed ball.
         Andrew Beatty suffered the loss for SIUE. Beatty started and last 4 1/3 innings. He gave up five runs on seven hits. He struck out two and dropped to 0-4 with the loss.
         The two teams will play the second game of the series Saturday afternoon. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. Sophomore lefty Mitchell Fairley will take the hill for the Cougars.
