MUNCIE, Ind. - Sydney Winslow was named to the All-Tournament team at the Ball State Tournament Saturday.
Winslow was a positive note in SIUE's weekend play. The Cougars dropped their seventh and eighth straight match Saturday by falling to Ball State 25-21, 20-25, 25-21, 25-20 and IUPU-Ft. Wayne 25-14, 25-20, 25-14.
Winslow led SIUE with 20 kills total in the matches against Ball State, 2-3, and IPFW, 4-4.
SIUE coach Todd Gober said the Cougars were inconsistent during the weekend.
"We had moments where we played well but we were inconsistent," said Gober. "We never got in sync."
After splitting the first two sets against Ball State, the Cougars were in position to take a 2-1 lead after the third set. Ball State rallied down 19-14 and went on an 11-2 run to end the set.
"We were in a position to win that match," said Gober.
IPFW collected 48 kills against the Cougars in SIUE's second match of the day. SIUE hit .067 for the match.
SIUE next travels to the UT Chattanooga Tournament in Chattannoga, Tenn. The Cougars play Loyola (Ill.), Chattanooga and Austin Peay at the two-day tournament.
