RICHMOND, Ky. - SIUE didn't get any favors from its Ohio Valley Conference opponent Friday as Eastern Kentucky defeated the Cougars in three sets 25-16, 25-23, 25-12.

The Cougars began this two-match road trip with a season-low 23 kills in the match. SIUE, which travels to face Morehead State Saturday for a 2 p.m. matchup, fell to 10-17 overall and 5-10 in league play.

Kelsey Augustine led SIUE's offense with five kills.

SIUE Head Coach said she expects the Cougars will bounce back and compete after Friday's loss. "Before I entered the locker room tonight after the match they (the team) had a list on the board of the things that were lacking tonight."

EKU, 12-13 overall and 7-7 in the OVC, picked up a strong match from Kelsey Kuehner who finished with a match-high 14 kills and no attack errors. Ashley Edmond added 12 kills as the Colonels hit .273 for the match.
