Box Score 2 MOREHEAD, Ky. - Freshman Rachel Webb won all
four of her matches on SIUE's road trip to Kentucky but the Cougars
dropped a pair falling 6-1 to Eastern Kentucky Friday and Morehead
State 6-1 Saturday.
Webb and doubles partner Maggie Boeckman continued their strong
doubles play picking up an 8-3 win over EKU's Anouk Faure and
Sophie O'Neill at the No. 2 spot.
Webb would later add the only Cougar point of the afternoon with
a 6-4, 7-6 (1) victory over Saioa Oscoz at No. 4 singles.
Eastern Kentucky (10-9) cruised through the remaining singles
matches to earn the 6-1 win.
Facing Morehead State (10-9) Saturday, Boeckman and Webb
remained perfect on the weekend defeating Alix Young and Victoria
Cran 8-4. The duo has now won four straight matches at No. 2
doubles.
Webb moved up to the No. 3 singles spot against the Eagles and
still managed to record her fourth consecutive win. Webb did so
with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Alexandra Rydberg.
SIUE, now 5-8 overall, will look to quickly turn things around
when its host Southern Illinois University Carbondale April 4 at
4:15 pm.
