EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Despite double-digit kills from SIUE middle hitters Kristen Torre and Kelsey Augustine, Cougar volleyball dropped a 25-14, 17-25, 25-21, 25-21 match to visiting UT Martin Saturday at the Vadalabene Center.

SIUE Head Coach Leah Johnson said that after the Cougars "left everything on the court" in Friday's five-set thriller against Southeast Missouri, there was little left for Saturday's match.

"We were just flat starting today. We just didn't have much left," said Johnson.

Torre led SIUE in kills for the second straight match with 12.

"We had couple of tough matches this weekend so our mindset was to come out, play Cougar volleyball, and play as hard as we could," said Torre.

Johnson said Torre was more in rhythm Friday with her 22 kills.

"We had to depend on her, and I thought she handled that really well," Johnson said.

Augustine, a senior, added 11 kills with no errors for a .478 hitting percentage.

Chelsea Colclasure, who became the first player in school history to record 500 digs in each of her first three seasons, anchored the defense with 19 digs and averaged 6.44 digs per set for the weekend.

Both UT Martin and SIUE finished with 50 kills for the match.

UT Martin, now 9-19 overall and 3-9 in the Ohio Valley Conference, picked up a double-double from outside hitter Lynsey Hazelwood with 10 kills and 16 digs. She added three blocks. Emily Keaton led all players with 13 kills. Alisha Erves led the Skyhawks' defense with five blocks.

SIUE, 9-16 overall and 5-7 in the OVC, next welcomes Tennessee Tech for a 7 p.m. next Friday at the Vadalabene Center.
