OVC Standings 

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The SIUE softball team heads east to face Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State for doubleheaders Friday and Saturday, respectively.

The SIUE doubleheader with Eastern Kentucky (16-9, 3-0) was moved up to Friday due to weather concerns. The first pitch of the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. CT.

SIUE (16-7, 1-1 OVC) will continue on to face Morehead State (10-6, 1-1 OVC) Saturday. That game time was changed to start at 12:00 p.m. CT.

SIUE Head Coach Sandy Montgomery said changing the schedule shouldn't affect anything.

"You always have different challenges on the road. We're just going to try to go in, worry about the first game, and go from there," Montgomery said.

The Cougars are coming off an impressive doubleheader sweep over defending Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament champion Georgia Tech. The Cougars defeated the Yellow Jackets 2-1 and 1-0 at Cougar Field. Montgomery said her team has to continue to focus on what is ahead.

"I'm very proud with how the team is handling themselves. We haven't talked about the future at all. We just try to focus on the next game. They are very excited about conference play," Montgomery said.
