Southeast defeated the Cougars 25-14, 25-19, 27-25. The Redhawks improved to 7-14 overall and 3-4 in the Ohio Valley Valley Conference play while the Cougars fell to 9-13 overall and 1-6 in the OVC.

SIUE Head Coach Leah Johnson said the Cougars' 28 attack errors made the difference in the match.
"That's going to hurt you against low-error teams like Southeast," said Johnson.
SIUE has much as a five-point lead in the third set at 16-11, but a 5-1 run in the middle of the set fed the Redhawks' comeback. Kelsey Keeve served out the match for Southeast.
"They had all of the energy on their side of the net," said Johnson.
The Cougars will look to rebound Saturday with a match at OVC rival UT Martin. The first serve is set for 2 p.m.
"We need to refocus on UT Martin now," Johnson said. "It's hard to win on the road. We're still adjusting unfortunately."
