MARTIN, Tenn. – SIUE volleyball's Kristen Torre led all players with 18 kills Friday, but the Cougars dropped a four-set match to UT Martin 25-20, 21-25, 30-28, 25-18 at Skyhawk Fieldhouse.

Torre hit .421 for the match, committing just two attack errors. She added four blocks and a team-high three service aces.

SIUE, 6-15 overall and 4-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference, moves on to play Southeast Missouri in a 5 p.m. matchup Saturday in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

After splitting the first two sets, UT Martin won the crucial third set by collecting the final three points of the set. The Skyhawks outlasted the Cougars in the fourth set to improve their record to 8-20 overall and 4-7 in the OVC.

Ashley Witt joined Torre in double figures kills for SIUE with 16.

Three UT Martin players finished the match with double digits in kills. Lael Ceriani led the Skyhawks with 17 followed by 16 from Madison Wessling and 11 from Kiah Cheatham.
