FORT WAYNE, Ind. – SIUE volleyball collected its second straight win Saturday with a four-set victory over host Fort Wayne at the Fort Wayne Invitational Presented by Hyatt Place.

The Cougars came back from a set down to pick up a 17-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-14 victory over the Mastodons.

SIUE concludes opening weekend tournament at 3:30 p.m. against Quinnipiac.

Taylor Joens led the Cougars with 11 kills and a .429 hitting percentage.

As a team, SIUE hit .291 for the match.

SIUE's defense used a balanced attack to push past Fort Wayne. Joens, Jackie Scott and Kiana Fields each had five blocks with Dylynn Otte, Ashley Witt and Annie Ellis added three each.

Elizabeth Fuerst led the Matsodons with 13 kills followed by 12 from Nicole Rightnowar.
