JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The momentum was not on the side of SIUE volleyball Saturday night at Jacksonville State.

The Gamecocks defeated the Cougars 25-18, 25-16, 25-17. Jacksonville State improved to 11-10 overall and 4-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference. SIUE is now 4-16 overall and 3-5 in the OVC.

"The stats weren't pretty," said SIUE Head Coach Kendall Paulus, "but overall we are still playing good volleyball. We know what we need to work on."

The Cougars will now return home from its four-match road trip for a pair of home matches next weekend. SIUE matches up with Morehead State for a 6 p.m. contest Friday and Eastern Kentucky for a 2 p.m. meeting Saturday.

Annie Ellis led the SIUE offense against Jacksonville State with seven kills. SIUE finished with 25 kills for the match.

Addie Halverson starred for the Gamecocks with 13 kills. Jacksonville State collected 35 kills and had a .244 team hitting percentage.
