CHARLESTON, Ill. – Aly Goff and Kassidy Dexheimer each finished in the top five, helping SIUE women's cross country to a second-place team finish Friday afternoon at the Eastern Illinois' Walt Crawford Open.
Goff placed third with a time of 18 minutes, 36.1 seconds. Dexheimer finished fifth at 18:55.9. Grace Rowan and Helena Keenan of Eastern Illinois took the top two spots to lead EIU to the team title. The Panthers finished with a score of 20, while the Cougars were at 56.
Keri Burmester (19:47.2) and Emily Ellis (19:56.3) finished 13th and 14th respectively. Natalia Rodriguez was 27th at 21:37.0.
The men also finished second to Eastern Illinois. The Panthers finished at 18 points. SIUE had 54.
Austin Woodard's time of 26:22.8 was good for third place. Roland Prenzler (26:59.8) and Landon Skelly (27:00.2) finished at seventh and eighth place. Cameron Woodard finished 20th at 29:32.5 and Cree Stumpf wa 23rd at 30:30.3.
EIU's Francesco Romano captured the top spot.
Both teams are home Friday, Sept. 13, to play host to the John Flamer Invitational at the SIUE Cross Country course.
