EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE Athletics and the Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund have officially concluded the $28 for 28 campaign, honoring SIUE student-athletes earning a grade point average of better than 3.0 for 28 consecutive semesters. In response to the initiative, there was an overwhelming amount of support from the SIUE Athletics Staff & Administration, Faculty, and the entire SIUE Community who helped to raise $6,228.
Those who donated made a direct impact on the lives of more than 230 SIUE student-athletes.

The Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund is the annual fundraising arm of SIUE Athletics. Annual philanthropic gifts help offset the cost of scholarships and operations for all 16 Division I varsity sports. The mission of the Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund is to create an IMPACTFUL experience for SIUE student-athletes in the classroom and on the field of play by providing financial support through philanthropic gifts. All donors who donate a minimum of $100 during the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) to SIUE Athletics are considered Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund members.
