CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois and SIUE played one half of women's soccer on Thursday afternoon before Mother Nature walked away with the decision.
SIUE was leading 2-0 at the half on goals by
Emma Dutko and
Maria Haro in the opening 45 minutes.
Teams were completing halftime warm-ups when the first lightning delay occurred. The delay would be followed by several thunderstorms and heavy rains which forced the postponement.
The match will be played again in its entirety on Tuesday, Oct. 19. A start time will be announced in the coming days.
EIU travels to Tennessee Tech on Sunday to resume OVC action while SIUE will host UT Martin on Sunday.
