EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.  -  Despite another strong start, SIUE volleyball fell to the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in straight sets. This marks the Cougars' second consecutive loss, as SIUE drops to 2-2 on the Spring 2021 season.

Rachel McDonald led the Cougars with 11 kills and five digs, while Annie Ellis boasted a .636 hitting percentage, seven kills, and three blocks. Jordyn Klein led SIUE with 13 kills and Hope Everett added three blocks. Sarah Armendariz continued her streak of successful performances, recording 30 assists, five digs, and a pair of kills; meanwhile, freshman Sydney Hummert notched eight digs and seven kills of her own.

The Cougars will remain at home for next weekend's series against Murray State. First serve is set for Saturday at 6 p.m. CT at First Community Arena, and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
