Box Score EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE volleyball made quick work of the visiting Skyhawks on Sunday afternoon, taking down UT Martin in straight sets on Senior Day.
Six Cougar seniors were honored before the match - Sarah Armendariz, Annie Ellis, Hope Everett, Jordyn Klein, Rachel McDonald, Gabby Wimes. And those seniors certainly showcased why they're among the most successful senior classes in program history, as seniors led in all major statistical categories to help the Cougars complete the sweep.
Hope Everett led SIUE with 11 kills and an outstanding .600 hitting percentage, in addition to collecting four blocks. Sarah Armendariz notched 40 assists, while Jordyn Klein again led the Cougars with 23 digs. Rachel McDonald registered 10 kills and five digs, and Annie Ellis recorded seven kills and led all players with seven blocks on the day. Savannah Christian also notched 10 kills of her own, and Sydney Hummert collected seven.
The Cougars will return to the court tomorrow afternoon, welcoming UT Martin back to First Community Arena in hopes of securing the regular season series sweep.
