Box Score RICHMOND, Ky. - SIUE volleyball got back in the win column on Sunday afternoon, taking down host Eastern Kentucky in straight sets.
"We are really focused on controlling what we can control and taking it one set at a time," said SIUE Head Coach Kendall Paulus following the match. "We had a great mindset today and stayed competitive."
Sydney Hummert led the Cougar attack, notching 14 kills and recording an outstanding .433 hitting percentage; however, it was Savannah Christian who would lead the Red & White in hitting percentage, recording 10 kills to hit for a .444 clip.
"We controlled our aggressiveness - both offensively and defensively," added Paulus. "The whole team was really in sync, which led to a really balanced offense and great numbers from Sydney and Savannah."
Hope Everett would add nine kills, while Annie Ellis and Rachel McDonald would each register five kills. Sarah Armendariz notched another double-double, dishing 39 assists and recording 10 digs. Jordyn Klein returned to form, leading the Cougars with 16 digs on the day.
