EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE student-athletes have continued their impressive academmic streak, earning a grade point average of better than 3.0 for 30 consecutive semesters. SIUE Faculty Athletics Representative, Dr. Bill Retzlaff, is again challenging Cougar supporters to join him and make a gift to the $30 for 30 Campaign.
 
"Once again, as the SIUE Faculty Athletic Representative I am acknowledging the incredible academic achievements of the SIUE Student Athletes and contributing $30 to the Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund for each one of the 16 team sports that SIUE sponsors," Retzlaff said. "Please match my funding commitment for at least one team."
 
The $30 for 30 Campaign is the third installment of the Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund's academic fundraising initiative, beginning in 2019 with the $25 for 25 Campaign and including the $28 for 28 Campaign in 2020. Donor participation has increased 98 percent and revenue has risen by 315 percent since the original $25 for 25 academic fundraising initiative.

The Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund is the annual fundraising arm of SIUE Athletics. Annual philanthropic gifts help offset the cost of scholarships and operations for all 16 Division I varsity sports.
