COOKEVILLE, Ill.- The SIUE volleyball team returned to action Friday evening, falling in three sets to Tennessee Tech. The set scores were: 22-25, 21-25, 17-25.

Following the loss, the Cougars move to 10-9 overall and 5-3 in conference play. The Golden Eagles improved to 8-12 and 5-3.

Despite SIUE hitting .333 in the opening set, Tennessee Tech used a .500 attack percentage on 17 kills to upend the Cougars 22-25 in the first. Knotted up at 19 points in the second, the Golden Eagles used a 6-2 run at the end of the set to take a 2-0 advantage. Tennessee Tech jumped out to an early 10-5 lead in the third, taking advantage of costly attack errors by SIUE. The Cougars finished the third set with a .000 hitting percentage and 11 attack errors.

Sophomore Priscilla Jones led SIUE attackers with nine kills while hitting .500 in the match. She also led the Cougars with four blocks. Sydney Hummert and Ainsley Ranstead each finished with seven kills.

The setting duo of Alyse Drifka and Caroline Waite dished out a combined 31 assists, with Drifka collecting 17 while Waite added 14. On defense, Nicole Kijowski led SIUE with eight digs. Treichel, Jones, and Waite each contributed a service ace.

For Tennessee Tech, Taylor Dorsey led all attackers with 13 kills and six blocks. Jordan Karlen led all setters with 36 assists.

SIUE and Tennessee Tech will face-off again tomorrow, Oct. 15 at the Hooper Eblen Center. First serve is set for noon and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
