• SIUE and Morehead State enter Sunday's match tied in the Ohio Valley Conference standings. The two teams are battling for a seed in the upcoming OVC Tournament. If one team wins, it will be the No. 2 seed and possibly a co-regular season champion (if Tennessee Tech loses Sunday).
• A tie Sunday creates a tie in the overall standings. Multiple scenarios would be in play based on the results of the other OVC games Sunday.
• Regardless of Sunday's outcome, SIUE will be either the No. 2 seed or No. 3 seed. A No. 2 seed means SIUE would next play Nov. 4 in the OVC Tournament semifinals. A No. 3 seed means SIUE would play host to a quarterfinal game next Sunday between the winner of the No. 6 vs. No. 7 (played Friday).
•
Sidney Christopher regained the team lead in scoring with a goal and an assist Thursday against UT Martin. She has eight points (two goals and a team-leading four assists).
• SIUE's four-goal outburst against UT Martin is the most goals scored this season in a game by the Cougars.
Taylor Dolt,
Maria Haro and
Matea Diekema each had their second goal of the season scored against the Skyhawks.
•
Taylor Spiller has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Week twice this season. Spiller has four shutouts this season and nine in her collegiate career. Spiller holds a 1.43 goals against average with 59 saves.
• The Division I women's soccer RPI ratings were released earlier this week. SIUE was ranked as second in the OVC at No. 192 overall.
