COLUMBIA, Mo. – SIUE men's and women's cross country concluded the regular season Friday afternoon at the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Midwest Regional Championships. The men placed 33rd overall in the 10K event while the women placed 27th as a team in the 6K at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.

Women's 6K

For the women, Chessy Nikonowicz finished 204th and was the Cougars' top runner in the 6K event in 23 minutes and 37 seconds.

Nikonowicz was followed by Alexis Fischer (24:14/220th), Natalia Rodriguez (24:41/226th), Alexis Edgar (25:16/228th), and Courtney Anthonies (25:25/229th).

Men's 10K

Leading the pack for the men was Roland Prenzler who finished the 10K race in 31 minutes and 26 seconds for 115th overall.

Prenzler's time marks the fifth fastest 10K time in program history.

Prenzler was followed by Spencer Hielkema (32:05/158th), Cameron Woodard (32:46/179th), Zach Walters (33:20/185th), Tyler Guthrie (33:26/186th), Blake Panagos (33:32/187th), and Jackson Edwards (33:50/191st).

Hielkema's time also marks the 18th fastest 10K in SIUE history.
