THE COUGARS: Continue their 2022 campaign on Friday, Nov. 4 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2:00 p.m. in a weekend series against Southeast Missouri.
LAST TIME OUT: SIUE was swept in three sets both matches last weekend against UT Martin. SIUE hit just .151 over the weekend compared to the Skyhawks' .341.
Sydney Hummert led the Cougars with 20 kills against UT Martin, while Priscilla Jones added 12 kills for a .346 attack percentage. At the net, Jessica Vineyard tallied five blocks. On defense, Nicole Kijowski paced the Cougars with 39 digs.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN: SIUE will play their 12th game as the visitors on Friday. The Cougars are 3-8 on the road this season.
SERIES STUFF: Friday marks the 27th meeting between the Cougars and Redhawks since 2008. SIUE owns the series with a 14-12 record but have been edged by SEMO in its last five matches in Cape Girardeau.
SCOUTING SEMO: The Redhawks are 12-14 overall and 7-7 in OVC play this season. Southeast Missouri has fallen in four out of its last five matches.
100 KILL CLUB: Five Cougars have recorded over 100 kills on the offensive end this season: Sydney Hummert (262), Savannah Christian (208), Priscilla Jones (179), Julia Treichel (178), and Ainsley Ranstead (170).
INDIVIDUAL CONFERENCE RANKS: Sydney Hummert holds the 10th spot in the OVC averaging 2.74 kills per set. Caroline Waite's 532 assists rank seventh. Priscilla Jones ranks ninth with 84 total blocks. Nicole Kijowski's 421 digs are good for fifth in the conference and 43rd in the nation.
MILESTONES: Hummert notched her 500th collegiate kill on Friday vs. UT Martin at SIUE. Waite also eclipsed 2,000 collegiate assists at Lindenwood on Tuesday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Nicole Kijowski earned Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors in the OVC Oct. 31 after averaging 5.82 D/S over three matches. Sydney Hummert earned Offensive Player of the Week honors Sep. 19 after recording double-doubles in three straight matches.
AT THE HELM: Head Coach Kendall Paulus is beginning her sixth season in charge of the Cougars. She owns a career record of 73-83 as head coach.
