• This is SIUE's fourth straight appearance in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship game. SIUE won each of the last two years, advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
• When the two teams met earlier this season at Tennessee Tech, the Golden Eagles handed SIUE its only OVC loss, a 2-0 defeat. SIUE outshot Tennessee Tech 8-7 in the contest.
• SIUE is 7-1-4 this season when tied or leading at halftime and 7-1-2 when scoring the game's first goal.
• SIUE enters Sunday's contest with the longest winning streak in the league at three games.
• SIUE's last four goals all have come in the second half. SIUE has now scored 20 goals this season and allowed 20.
• Taylor Spiller has six shutouts after back-to-back shutouts over Morehead State in the final regular season game and Friday's semifinals. Spiller has 11 career shutouts.
• The Cougars have made four appearances in the NCAA Tournament during the NCAA Division I era (2014, 2016, 2020 and 2021).

• Diekema and Lily Schnieders were named to the OVC first team while Sidney Christopher earned second team honors. Kasey Neidhardt was tabbed for the All-Newcomer team.
