EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE men's soccer Head Coach Cale Wassermann has added to the Cougars roster with a trio of spring signees. Connor Gramke (Edwardsville), Anis Smajlovic (Mehlville, Missouri) and Stephen Saladin (St. Louis) came to SIUE for the spring semester.
"I am really excited about the three additions we were able to bring in," Wassermann said. "Anytime you add players in January, it gives you a whole semester to work with them to get the guys integrated with the team before the fall semester. This is a huge period for development and growth for our team and players and having these three guys here now and able to compete in spring training and games is ideal."
Connor Gramke

Forward
Tulsa
Three years of eligibility remaining
Coach Wassermann on Gramke: Connor is a true center forward with the ability to play with his back to goal but also the hunger to get on the end of service in the goal area. He is an Edwardsville High School alumnus who grew up in our back yard which is a huge bonus. A hard working and honest player he will add a punch in how we attack and defend from the front of the field.
Anis Smajlovic

Three years of eligibility remaining
Coach Wassermann on Smajlovic: Anis is a danger in front of goal any time he is on the ball. His technique and ability to deceive defenders and goalkeepers in and around the goal area is a huge threat. He is a young player with a high ceiling, and we are excited to see him develop and have a great career here.
Stephen Saladin

Forward
Saint Louis Scott Gallagher Academy (MLS Next)
Four years of eligibility remaining
Coach Wassermann on Saladin: Stephen is a pacey winger from St. Louis, was a high school All-American, and has already tested as one of the fastest players in our team. He is aggressive and dynamic in wide areas but also a hard worker off the ball. His pace and aggressiveness will cause problems and his nose for creating scoring chances will be another huge addition for our program.
"All three guys bring different qualities on the field although all were developed in the Saint Louis Scott Gallagher club, so they all have a similar mindset and playing style which matches with our current group very well," Wassermann continued. "A big thank you to our coaching staff, compliance office and academic advisers as getting kids recruited, committed and eligible over the winter break is not an easy task. I am very thankful for our whole staff and can't wait to add to this class with our August incoming players."
