• This is the first meeting between SIUE and Western Illinois since 2017 when the Cougars took a 1-0 victory in overtime.
• Western Illinois is the newest member of the Ohio Valley Conference.

Taylor Spiller recorded her third shutout of the season against Southern Indiana. She now has 15 shutouts in her collegiate career, which is tied for fifth all-time with Jensen Schoch (2017-21). That also is the second most in the Division I era. Spiller's season-high in saves this season is nine in the road win at IUPUI.
• Including Sunday's contest, SIUE has two of its last three matches at home. SIUE's final regular season road contest is next Thursday at UT Martin. The regular season finale is just one week away against Morehead State.
• The OVC standings are based on a point system with three points for OVC victories and one point for a tie. SIUE is in fourth overall. The top eight teams advance to the postseason.
• SIUE has outshot its opponents in five of the last six matches. The Cougars have outshot OVC competition 73-40 this season.
