• With the final week of the season ahead, all teams are looking hard at the league standings. SIUE sits in a tie for third place and has guaranteed itself a spot in the eight-team OVC Tournament, which starts next week. Sites and times will be announced Sunday evening.
• SIUE can finish as high as second place in the league standings with the UT Martin game to play as well as the regular season finale Sunday at home against Morehead State.
• The Cougars exploded for a season-high four goals this past Sunday against Western Illinois. Sidney Christopher recorded a goal and two assists and is now the team's leading scorer with three goals and two assists for eight points. 
• Taylor Spiller recorded her third shutout of the season against Southern Indiana. She now has 15 shutouts in her collegiate career, which is tied for fifth all-time with Jensen Schoch (2017-21). That also is the second most in the Division I era. Spiller's season-high in saves this season is nine in the road win at IUPUI.
• The Cougars' series with UT Martin dates back to 2008. The two teams have never tied in 19 matches played. UT Martin won the first four matches in the series. SIUE has won five of the last six contests.
• SIUE has outshot its opponents in six of the last seven matches. The Cougars have outshot OVC competition 93-49 this season.
• SIUE leads the OVC in corner kicks per game (5.36) and is 82nd nationally in that statistical category.
• Matea Diekema leads the team in shots out of the backfield with 17 and is eighth among OVC players in career shots with 66.
