EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE volleyball picked up its 11th win of the season against Tennessee State in straight sets on Friday night at First Community Arena. The set scores were: 25-22, 25-20, and 25-19.
"We knew this was going to be a tough matchup," Head Coach Kendall Paulus said. "Playing at home, we knew we would have an edge. I am very proud of our team. We had goals heading into this weekend on how we wanted to approach Tennessee State, and we were able to meet them."
SIUE improves to 11-11 overall and 5-6 against Ohio Valley Conference opponents. TSU falls to 2-19 and 2-9.
The Cougars wrapped the contest with a .247 attack percentage while holding Tennessee State to a .168 clip. SIUE oublocked the Tigers 6-4 while registering six service aces.
"We battled very well," added Paulus. "Our student-athletes were problem solving and communicating at a high level. It shows the trust they have in one another."
