SENIOR DAY: SIUE will recognize 10 seniors prior to the game Sunday.
OPENING ACT: SIUE is unbeaten through its first 16 games. It is the best start to a season since the 1997 team began 15-0-1. SIUE is one of three unbeaten teams remaining in the NCAA. The Cougars' .906 winning percentage is the best in the NCAA. SIUE has won six consecutive games. That is tied for the longest current winning streak in the country.
ALL WE DO IS WIN: SIUE's 13 wins are the most in the country and the most in a season for a Cougar team since the return to Division I.
TITLE TOWN: With last Sunday's win over Southern Indiana, SIUE officially clinched the regular season Ohio Valley Conference championship in the league's inaugural season. Men's soccer is the first men's program at SIUE to win an OVC title of any kind.
GOALS, GOALS, GOALS: The Cougars are No. 5 in the NCAA in total goals with 37, which leads the OVC. The six goals Sept. 28 at Southern Indiana were the most in a game for the Cougars since a 7-0 win against Saint Joseph's in 2006.
DE-FENCE: SIUE also boasts the top defense in the OVC. It's team goals against average of 0.56 ranks fourth in the NCAA. The Cougars' goal differential is +28, which is fourth in the NCAA.
TAKE YOUR SHOT: SIUE unleashed a season-high 26 total shots Sep. 22 against Webster. It marked the most shots in a game since a 2016 game against Central Arkansas (29). Sept. 28 at Southern Indiana, SIUE put a season-best 17 shots on goal.
THE SERIES: Eastern Illinois is one of SIUE's most played opponents, with the two teams having met 31 times. The OVC is the third different conference the teams have shared. The Cougars won the first meeting this year, Oct. 1 in Charleston. SIUE has won the previous five meetings.
