MOREHEAD, Ken. – SIUE women's cross country competed at the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning at the Eagle Trace Golf Course. The women finished ninth overall of 11 teams and averaged a 23:33.92 mark in the 6K race.
Kaitlyn Walker led the Cougars with a 22nd overall finish at 22:37.73. The junior's time in the 6K race was good for a PR.
Freshman Mia Loafman ran for a season best mark at 23:16.13, earning 39th overall. Ella Thier finished 50th at 23:37.38, also good for a season best time. Junior Caroline Gwaltney also set a PR, earning 63rd at 24:00.67.
Natalia Rodriguez took 69th overall, crossing the finish line at 24:17.68 while Alexis Fischer placed 74th at 24:26.75. Gabrielle Horton (24:49.42) and Ana Keller (24:53.09) finished back-to-back at 77th and 78th. Alexis Kampwerth earned 80th at 25:11.15 while Olivia Wolf rounded out SIUE in 85th at 25:54.58.
