EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE volleyball's Sydney Hummert (Quincy, Illinois) has earned Prairie Farms Cougar of the week honors after leading SIUE with 25 kills against SEMO over the weekend.
The junior averaged 3.13 kills per set over two contests against the Redhawks where SIUE finished the weekend 1-1. On Friday, the outside hitter tallied a team-high 13 kills while adding nine digs and a block. She concluded Friday's contest with a .346 attack percentage.
In the five-set win on Saturday, Hummert registered a team-high 12 kills and season-high 17 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Her five blocks also tied a season high mark.
Hummert leads the Cougars and ranks 12th in the Ohio Valley Conference averaging 2.58 kills per set. Her 21 service aces stack up 10th in the league.
The Prairie Farms Athlete of the Week honors a Cougar student-athlete who demonstrated excellence in competition.
