ROAD TRIP: Poor weather in Edwardsville forced SIUE and UIC to play this weekend's series to the USA Baseball Complex in Millington, Tennessee. The teams will play a doubleheader beginning at noon Saturday and a single game at noon Sunday.
RECENTLY: The Cougars dropped a weekend series for the first time this year, falling in the final two games of a three-game series at Missouri State. SIUE defeated Fontbonne 14-3 in seven innings Tuesday at home.
HOT START: SIUE began the year 10-2. It is the best start through 12 games since the 1990 team also started 9-2.
WEEKEND WINNERS: The Cougars won their first three weekend series this year, taking two of three from Incarnate Word and Louisiana-Monroe beforesweeping Western Illinois.
WALK-OFF WINNER: SIUE opened the home season Feb. 21 with a 6-5 win over Illinois State in 10 innings.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Senior starter
Jake Bockenstedt was named the OVC co-Pitcher of the Week Monday. He threw a career-best eight innings, while striking out 11 hitters. It is the third time he has earned the award this year, marking the most for an SIUE player in a single season.
CENTURY MARK: The April 3 win over UT Martin last season was Head Coach
Sean Lyons' 100th for his career. He has a career record of 115-160 all at SIUE.

LEAGUE LEADERS: SIUE hitters are fifth in the league with a .243 batting average, but lead the league in doubles with 30. SIUE pitchers are second in the OVC in earned run average at 4.53 and are fourth in total strikeouts with 121. The Cougars also hold the highest fielding percentage in the league at .980, good for No. 32 in the NCAA.
