CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri scored with just two ticks of the game clock left Thursday and upended SIUE women's soccer 2-1 at Houck Field.
Emily Baker scored her second goal of the game at 89:58, adding to her penalty kick goal at 58:06.
SIUE had tied the game with their third goal of the season after the 80-minute mark. This time,
Grace Ferguson provided the Cougar goal on a pass from
Matea Diekema at 85:38.
The Cougars held Southeast Missouri to just three shots in the contest while collecting 11 themselves. Ferguson and
MaryClaire Imig led the Cougars in shots with three each.
SIUE, 2-7-5 overall and 1-3-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference, now returns home Sunday against Southern Indiana. Senior Day is set for a 2 p.m. start at Korte Stadium.
