THE BASICS: The Cougars last played October 25, against EIU resulting in a 3-1 defeat.  

THE SERIES: When playing Morehead State SIUE volleyball is 8-12 in the all-time series. In the last meeting the Cougars lost 3-0 and 3-2 last year at Morehead in the two game series. When playing at home they are 5-2 in the all-time series. 

DOUBLE TROUBLE: This season there have been 18 total double-doubles. Alyse Drifka and Sydney Hummert rank 28th in school history with seven each. Ainsley Ranstead has three and Corinna Jones has one. 

TEAM LEADERS: Hummert leads the team in kills (193), averaging 3.02 per set, and points (230.5), averaging 3.60 per set. Nicole Medlin leads the team in attack  percentage at .340. Drifka leads the team in assists with an average of 5.06 per set (395 assists). Olivia Hogan leads the team in digs this season (179), averaging 2.84 a set.

BLOCK PARTY: As a team the Cougars are ranked 58th nationally for blocks per set (2.47) and 25th in team total block (293), they also lead the OVC in both categories. Freshman Taya Normann leads the OVC and ranks 96th nationally in blocks per set (1.17) and 39th in total blocks (91). Medlin follows ranking 94th nationally in total blocks (81). 

CAREER BEST: Hummert recorded her 1,000th career kill September 28. Hummert is the first player since Kirsten Torre (2015, 1,256 kills) to surpass 1,000 career kills. Drifka recorded her 2,000th career assists October 12. She is the first player since the 2019 season.

PRESEASON HONORS: Hummert earned preseason OVC honors following her 2023 season, she led the Cougars with 315 kills, and 2.76 kills per set ranking 9th in the conference. She added 35 service aces, while recording 66 total blocks. Hummert locked away 793 total digs last season surpassing the 500 career marker. 

AT THE HELM: Head Coach Kendall Paulus enters her 17th season with the Cougars and her eighth as head coach, with a career record of 94-105. Against conference opponents, she owns a 59-60 record.
