LOUISVILLEY, Ky. – Cougar cross country had a strong performance at the Louisville Classic Saturday morning.
SIUE had two runners finish in the top 25. Senior
Tyler Guthrie finished 20th out of 323 runners, with a time of 25:23.3 in the men's 8,000-meter race. Freshman
Erica Woodard finished 14th out of 229 runners, with a time of 18:42.8 in the women's 5,000-meter race.

On the women's side there were notable performances by
Sophia Harrison (59/19:32.6),
Mia Loafman (60/19:34.4),
Ana Keller (99/20:09.5),
Arianna Neisen (113/20:19.2),
Riley Doyle (119/20:27.5),
Courtney Anthonies (126/20:32.7),
Emilee Franklin (133/20:37.2) and Lexi Kampwerth (187/22:01.9).
As a team, the men's cross country placed 22nd out of 30, running an average time of 26:39.18. The women's team placed 12th of 24 teams, running an average time of 19:40.70.
The Cougars had a strong performance in the heat of the weekend. "Our group overcame warmer temperatures and a jam-packed field to have strong performances at Louisville," assistant coach Joshua Wolfe said. "This was the perfect test before heading to Bradley in a few weeks."
Up next, the Cougars run at the Bradley Pink Classic October 18. Runners are set to start at 1:30 p.m.
