EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SEMO defeats the Cougars in a 3-0 match. The Redhawks improve to 18-12 (15-3 OVC) claiming the regular season OVC champions. After this game the Cougars are 12-17 (7-11 OVC) ranking seventh in the OVC regular season play, securing their spot for the OVC Tournament next week.
SIUE put up a fight with SEMO with set scores being 25-18, 25-19,25-23.
As a team the Cougars put up 34 kills, six service aces, nine blocks, 28 assists, and 52 digs compared to the Redhawks 47 kills, four service aces, seven blocks, 43 assists, and 64 digs.
Sydney Hummert and Bree Schriemann led the attack by having nine kills apiece. Schreimann also had four total blocks in this game.
Ainsley Ranstead followed with six kills and two service aces.
On defense
Nicole Medlin took charge putting up six total blocks a new season single-game high for her.
The setters
Corinna Jones and
Alyse Drifka had strong performances with Jones putting up 11 assists and Drifka putting up 14 assists.
