COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Cougars (10-15, 5-9 OVC) fight the Golden Eagles (19-7, 8-6 OVC) in game two of their weekend series.
Tennessee Tech took the first set 25-16, when the Cougars fought back in the second set winning 25-23. Tech took the final two sets (25-21, 25-14) defeating the Cougars 3-1.
As a team SIUE had 36 kills, five service aces, eight blocks, 34 assists and 56 digs, compared to Tennessee Tech's 58 kills, six service aces, 12 blocks, 50 assists and 71 digs.
Middle
Nicole Medlin led the Cougars with nine kills at a .241 hitting percentage. Medlin has led the team in hitting percentage all season. She also had three block assists and one solo block.
Outside
Taya Nordmann had three block assists and one solo block. Nordmann leads the Cougars in blocks per set (1.20) this season. Nordmann tallied 122 blocks in her first season with the Cougars.
Setter
Corinna Jones led with 18 assists and 10 digs. This was her third double-double of the season.
There were many notable performances including
Olivia Hogan with 13 digs,
Alyse Drifka with 13 assists, and
Sydney Hummert with eight kills and 10 digs.
Up next, the Cougars return to First Community Arena Nov. 14 to take on UT Martin. The first serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
