EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE women's tennis ran its season record to 11-3 Wednesday with a 6-1 victory over visiting McKendree.

The Cougars grabbed momentum early.
Margaux Guibal Britt and
Amelia Gorman opened the match with a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles over Camilla Fonseca and Viola Cipriani.
Jordan Schifano and
Fabiola Perez clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles over Iva Poleksic and Sofjia Djunisijevic.
Singles play also went the Cougars' way with Perez leading the way with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles over Poleksic.
Schifano bested Cipriani at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-1. Gorman provided the match-winning point at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-4.
Paula Guillen Cerver powered past Djunisijevic at No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-2. Guibal Britt closed out the singles victories for the Cougars with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Fonseca at No. 1 singles.
SIUE returns to Ohio Valley Conference play Saturday with a 1 p.m. match at Lindenwood.
