EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE baseball center fielder Lucas Spence (Beecher, Illinois) has earned Prairie Farms Cougar of the Week honors after leading the Cougars with five hits last week.
The junior went a combined 5-for-17 at the plate with five RBI, four runs, and three walks against Southeast Missouri and St. Louis.
Spence leads the Cougars and ranks third in the Ohio Valley Conference with a .396 (44-for-111) batting average. His 44 hits lead the conference. He also owns a 14-game hitting streak, the longest active streak in the OVC.
The Prairie Farms Cougar of the Week honors an SIUE student-athlete who demonstrated excellence in competition.
