EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE student-athletes continue to progress academically according to the NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores released Tuesday.
SIUE programs combined for an average APR score of 992, which is higher than the national average of 984 and is the same as last year.
"Our student-athletes continue to achieve excellent results in the classroom and in competition," SIUE Director of Athletics Andrew Gavin said. "Academic success is part of both our proud history and our collective commitment. These results are also reflective of hundreds of our alumni that are continuing to excel in their endeavors."
Four Cougar programs achieved APR scores of 1,000. Golf, women's basketball, women's cross country and tennis all received perfect scores. In all, 13 of SIUE's 14 programs met or exceeded the national average for their sport.
The current scores are a four-year average. The most recent data covers the 2019-20 through the 2022-23 academic years.
