NORMAL, Ill.- Cougars men's and women's cross country wrapped up their night at the Illinois State's Redbird Invitational. The men's team placed sixth out of eight team, while the women's team placed fifth out of 11 teams.

The women's top five runners averaged a 23:27. Leading the pack was freshman
Erica Woodard (Philo, Ill.) who placed 11 out of 89 runners finishing with a time of 22:24.50. Woodard also set school records; she now holds the second fastest 6k time ran by a freshman. She also ranks in top 20 overall school history.

Mia Loafman (22/23:05.40),
Sophia Harrison (23:32.60),
Riley Doyle (24:04.20), and
Emilee Franklin (24:10.70).

SIUE top five men's runners averaged a 26:52 time.
Tyler Guthrie (Edwardsville, Ill.) led the team placing 31 finishing with a 26:19.70 time. Guthrie last raced the Redbird Invitational two years ago where he finished with a 26:18.1 time.
