Sydney Hummert recorder her
1,000th career kill Saturday against Western Illinois. In game two against the Leathernecks Hummert reached this milestone by scoring point 17 of the first set. Overall, she had 13 kills at a .458 hitting percentage, a single-game high.
SIUE volleyball (5-8, OVC 0-2) fell in three sets against Western Illinois (8-5, OVC 2-0). The set scores were 25-18, 25-12, 25-19. The Cougars are now 4-7 in the all-time series against the Leathernecks.
Inside the Numbers:
- As a team, the cougars had 37 kills, two blocks, 33 assists, and 39 digs.
- Alyse Drifka recorded yet another double-double this weekend with 17 assists and 11 digs.
- Corinna Jones had a notable performance with 11 assists and six digs.
- Both Kyndia Smith and Nicole Medlin had five kills. Smith hit at .158, while Medlin hit a .308.
- Ainsley Ranstead had the second-most kills with eight at a .261 clip and contributed two digs.
