EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE women's tennis opened the 2025 spring season Saturday with a 7-0 rout of Illinois-Springfield at the Edwardsville Y Meyer Center.

SIUE collected the doubles point early as Amelia Gorman and Cydney Rogers bested Ema Norman Bordean and Niamh Grogan 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Noelle Compton and Payton Tomichek added a No. 2 doubles win of 7-5 over UIS's Carmen Llopis Fabra and Kamila Kalinowski.

The Cougars were victorious in straight sets in all five contested matches. Gorman, Tomichek, Paige Duncan and Chloe Koons each earned wins.

The next three dual matches are on the road. It begins with Valparaiso next Sunday followed by Western Kentucky (Jan. 31) and Bradley (Feb. 8).
