EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE cross country wraps up the regular season with the Angel Mounds Invite in Evansville Indiana Friday. The men's 8k will start at 9 a.m. and the women's 6k will follow at 9:50 a.m.
The University of Evansville and Indiana State will co-host the 2025 Angel Mounds Invitational. This year will be a larger and more competitive field, including: Austin Peay, Bellarmine, Brescia, Central State, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, IU Indianapolis, Lipscomb, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Southeast Missouri, SIUE, Southern Illinois Carbondale, Southern Indiana, Tennessee Tech, Transylvania, UT Martin, Vincennes and Western Kentucky.
Last Time Out
SIUE last ran at the Chili Pepper Festival men's 8k and women's 5k October 4
th.
Kinze Shea led the women's team, placing 108
th with a time of 18:36.6, setting a new personal record in the 5k.
The men's team was led by
Tanner Emerson who placed 155
th with a PR 8k time of 26:28.6.
Jack Willenborg also had a PR 8k with a time of 27:07.9 (219
th).
About the Course
This cross country course is located on the banks of the Ohio River in southwest Indiana. Angel Mounds is on the site of a historic Mississippian Native American Village. Withing its nearly 600 acres, Angel Mounds in home to an interpretive center, nature preserve, hiking and biking trails, an 18-hole disk golf course, and a top-tier cross country course. Angel Mounds State Historic Site is home to both the University of Evansville and Southern Indiana cross country teams.
