• This is the seventh all-time meeting between the Cougars and the Leathernecks. SIUE holds a 3-1-2 record in the previous six meetings. Last season's match ended in a 1-1 tie in Macomb. SIUE had won the previous three meetings to that. Western Illinois' lone win in the series was a 2-1 victory during the 2011 season.
• Sarah Bozeman recorded her first shutout as a Cougar against Tennessee Tech. She previously had one at Memphis.
• SIUE's scoring has come from five different players this season. Amanda Dean, Savannah DeFini and Alayna Hauser each have two goals scored. Aleah Minehart and Audrey Roberts also have scored for the Cougars.
• Nieroda, a freshman, is the team leader in shots for the season with 20. She is eighth in the OVC in shots on goal with 10.
• Bozeman leads SIUE with 63 saves and is ranked third in the OVC in total saves, just four behind OVC leader Ariel Bernard of Western Illinois.
• Anna Zichella is tied for second in the OVC in assists with three. She trails only Little Rock's Maria Schuller with four.
• SIUE continues this brief homestand with a Thursday contest against Lindenwood. Game time is 7 p.m. at Korte Stadium.
• This is the 18th season for Head Coach Derek Burton, who took over the SIUE women's soccer program when it jumped to the Division I level before the 2008 season. Burton has led SIUE to five Ohio Valley Conference titles and five NCAA Tournament appearances (2014, 2016, 2020, 2021 and 2022).
