EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship on Friday, Nov. 14. The women's 6k will start at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men's 10k will follow at 11:30 a.m.
The Cougars will face a new mix of competitions, as schools from the Ohio Valley Conference are divided among five different regional sites.
SIUE will send a total of seven athletes. Representing the men's team will be
Tanner Emerson,
Logan Luttrell,
Aaron Conderman and
Jack Willenborg. Competing for the women's squad Christy Muldrew,
Kinze Shea and
Erica Woodard will be competing.
The women's program's best regional finish came in 2013, when a Cougar placed 79
th overall with a time of 21:54.2. On the men's side, SIUE's top all-time performance was a 22
nd-place finish in 2016, with a time of 30:50.4.
At last year's regional, Emerson led the men's team, placing 42
nd in 32:54.25, while Woodard led the women's team with 193rd-place finish in 22:57.56.
